Tic Tac can't wait to lay her hands on the latest Square-Enix epic. She gives us her feelings just before her copy arrived...

It’s been in development for a while now and the first major trailer has been revealed. With square Enix already working mainly with Kingdom Hearts: Birth by Sleep, They say this game will be the extremely long wait.

We’ll start my examining the story: It’s set in Cocoon – a utopia in the sky. Its inhabitants believed their world a paradise. Under the Sanctum's rule, Cocoon had long known peace and prosperity. Nurtured by their benevolent protectors, the fal’Cie, humankind came to believe that these tranquil days would continue forever.

But the discovery of a single hostile fal’Cie changed everything.

The moment that fal'Cie from Pulse – the feared and detested lowerworld – awoke from its slumber, peace on Cocoon came to an end. Fal'Cie brand humans, transforming them into magic-wielding servants. They become l'Cie – the fal’Cie’s chosen.

You play as one of the chosen, it follows a simple story line of trying to overthrow the master using several skills such as the Paradigm system, and this brings me to Gameplay

Te main new feature is the Paradigm system “Characters can be assigned one of six battle roles. Changing a character's role will alter the abilities available to that character as well as their behaviour in combat.” To effectively change your character during battle. The battle system is pretty much the same apart from introducing a more Real Life effect. In layman’s terms: It Grants players the freedoms to execute numerous commands in a single turn in real-time. Now players can enjoy all the strategy and flexibility of a turn-based system, along with the visceral thrill of an action game. Which in my eyes seem like a very good move to draw more action-type gamers into the FF series.

Thee summoning system also returns and is based more like the FF: 12 system, although this time with otherworldly beings Eidolons, n which to capture them you have to fights them. (A more hands-on approach to summoning than Revenant Wings, “As you demonstrate your power to the Eidolon, its gestalt gauge will slowly increase. Continue to attack until this gauge is full, at which time you may press PS3 [O] / XBOX [X] to claim victory.” To summon them during battle players will get an SP gauge that will Decrease over time and as the Eidolon takes damage. (Again similar to FF: 12) Several original monsters cm back such as Odin and Shiva so old fans will recognise most features.

The international trailer show stunning graphics from the game, to the point of hat the FF film was like. With extreme detail in the Eidolons and during battle. The graphics themselves stretch past the like of Call of duty. Yet in spite of all the realism still hold that same “fantasy” with it, the thing that the series is known to create. It might only show glimpses of Gameplay but it’s still extremely detailed. The main creator of the game stated that he has over 1000 skilled artists helping with the game. It will not disappoint the series!

Last but not least is that Square Enix has finally announced that they WILL be releasing a limited edition collector’s pack for all consoles. (Ps3, Xbox 360, PC). It was originally thought they had cut a deal with Microsoft to release the pack just for Xbox 360 but it has been finally announced that it will be on the consoles.

I really cannot wait to actually play this. So far everything seems to be going very well to the point of Perfection. In spite of its slow rate of completion at least we safely know they will not be rushing into it and seriously tripping themselves up.
