As anyone who follows any KN-related Twitter feed or the Great DS Challenge Blog will know, Dragon Quest IX currently has us wrapped around its little finger, with obsession levels getting dangerously high for a number of KN staff and members. A massive, sprawling adventure, DQIX is one of our games of the year so far, but don't be expecting the same thing here: DQX is coming out on Wii, and not expected for another three years or so. A full-on Dragon Quest takes forever to make and Square-Enix wouldn't make it unless they knew it could be a success on that console. Expect either a remake of an older Quest or a spin-off, along the lines of Dragon Quest Monsters or Rocket Slime, both of which were realised to relative success on the humble DS before DQIX came along and blew us away. While we wouldn't predict a full-on adventure here, don't rule it out in the later life of the 3DS.
