It was a given, wasn't it? Mario Kart is headed to the new Nintendo console. It wouldn't be classable as a Nintendo system otherwise. While the DS versions' gimmick was online racing, and the Wii's motion control being added to the network play, the 3DS version could be the best Mario Kart in years, as not only does it have all those features, but also 3D effects and the new handhelds improved visuals to work with, although the demo didn't really show them in use. (It looked just like a bog-standard PSP game.) The use of 3D is very clever- instead of things flying out of the screen, the backgrounds roll by, past you. It works far better than the likes of PS3 racer Motorstorm: Pacific Drift, which had highly unimpressive 3D effects. There are more 'typical' 3D bits, though, such as Bloopers who spray ink out of instead of onto the screen.
We weren’t as overly impressed by Mario Kart DS as some, but we are over impressed by this 3DS follow up. The Wii version was the best since N64. This could -Somehow- be even better. Be excited. Be very excited.
None of late...
